What’s up mixed martial artists, fighters, fight fans and fitness freaks ,
I just want to give you a short background about who I am and where I came from so you know who’s behind the articles, videos and programs you see on this site.
My name is Eric Wong and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with my wife and our dog.
Wong = Chinese and my Dad was straight from China while my Mom is Chinese, but was born and raised in Jamaica. Yes, I know, it’s weird. Especially when I hear some of my aunts and uncles with thick Jamacian accents. Yah mon!
I’ve got a degree in Kinesiology from Waterloo and I first started my own Personal Training business in 2005.
2006 was when I first worked with an MMA fighter – a guy by the name of Jeff Joslin. I trained him for 2 fights until he had to retire due to injuries (concussion).
After getting great results with Jeff, I started working with a lot of local fighters as there was really no one around who knew about specific training for MMA. Even now in 2012, there’s still a lack of legit information out there. A lot of that is because MMA is growing so fast – the training methodologies just haven’t been able to keep up with the marketing and hype.
Since about 2009, I stopped (almost) all regular personal training and have been focusing on 2 things: training fighters (guys like UFC fighters Mark Bocek and Claude Patrick, amongst others) and publishing programs and content specifically about strength and conditioning for MMA on my blog, YouTube and through my private newsletter.
2009 was also when I first published the Ultimate Strength and Conditioning Program and thousands of guys have followed it since.
Well, it’s 2012 now and I’ve finally completed writing and creating v2.0 – it’s really more like v5.0 because it is such a quantum leap beyond the first version. New videos, over a hundred pages of new info, optimized workouts and a cleaner layout make this the best program available for guys who want to cut out the confusion when it comes to getting in top fight shape and follow a plan that is proven to work.
That’s where I’ll leave you for now.
Read the articles, watch the videos and most importantly, apply what you’re learning here.
If you decide to opt to become a new customer of mine, I welcome you with open arms and look forward to helping you reach your potential as a mixed martial artist.
If you just decide to hang around and read some articles and watch some of the videos, awesome – just put it to work for you and you’ll be farther along than most of the guys out there doing the same old things and wondering why they’re not getting results.
Train smart and THROWDOWN!
